Japan French Post Office 1875 Degron-kun Env.

envelope to France cancelled with wooden handstamp (Degron-kun) in the French Military Mission Tokyo and posted in the letter box at Shimbashi railway station with rectangular handstamp Shimbashi in vermilion on reverse, sent by train to Yokohama where Cherry Blosom SG55, 2 sen yellow is applied and tied by syllabic cancel and passed to the French Post Office bearing Ceres Yvert 53, 5c green, Yvert 55, 15c bistre and Yvert 57, 80c rose tied by gros chifres 5118 of the French Post Office Yokohama and sent by Packet boat to France. Colonel Munier was Chief of the French Military Mission in Tokyo, this cover is to his wife he spent 6 years in Japan and was decorated to the Order of the Rising Sun. Stamps have been removed and put back on envelope still a great rarity. (pt)
