Hong Kong 1941 Detained in Hong Kong Cover to Ireland

envelope bearing SG165, 5c Green and Black (4), tied by Victoria Hong Kong 8 Dec 1941 datestamp with framed instructional "Detained in Hong Kong by Japanese From December 1941 to September 1945" struck twice on front in Violet with Boxed "No Service" and Boxed "Retour" in Black. A rare example which missed the last convoy leaving Hong Kong with mail on the 6 Dec. A very fine detained cover from the seven bags of overseas mail found at the G.P.O. (pt)
